Vortex began in the mid-80's when the Hamilton family moved to Wisconsin and opened a store selling supplies to people who loved wildlife and the outdoors. It didn't take long to see the need for supplying our customers with good optics, and that started what grew to be a major part of their business. They sold all the popular brands and, by listening to customers, helped the industry develop and market many of the innovative features you see in modern optics today.
A few years ago, they decided to develop a brand of highly sophisticated products designed to meet the needs of the most demanding and discriminating observers — the brand you know as Vortex.
